This exchange-traded fund (ETF) primarily invests in the equity securities of companies situated across various developing economies globally, with notable allocations to Brazil, India, and Taiwan. A key characteristic of this fund is its deliberate exclusion of investment exposure to mainland China. Its central aim is to closely mirror the performance and returns of the FTSE Emerging ex China Index. While presenting substantial opportunities for growth, this investment also entails significant risk. The fund's net asset value can experience greater volatility and more pronounced price swings compared to stock funds focused on more mature economies, including the United States. Therefore, it is best suited for investors with an extended investment horizon. Concerning 75% of its total assets, the fund is subject to specific diversification rules: it generally cannot purchase more than 10% of the outstanding voting shares of any single company, nor can its holdings in any one issuer exceed 5% of the fund's total assets. These restrictions are waived if such actions are necessary to align the fund's composition with its benchmark index, or when investing in securities issued by the U.S. government or its associated agencies and instrumentalities.
