About

The Simplify Volatility Premium ETF (SVOL) is designed to generate investment returns, before fees and expenses, that approximate a fractional inverse (-0.2x to -0.3x) of the Cboe Volatility Index (VIX) short-term futures index performance. Crucially, it also aims to temper severe volatility. In an environment where traditional income sources often fall short, SVOL seeks to deliver an attractive income stream and enhance portfolio diversification, strategically avoiding risks commonly associated with other income-generating asset classes. The fund achieves this primarily through a short position in VIX futures, optimized to capture the premium embedded in that market. To safeguard against significant upward movements in the VIX, a modest portion of its capital is allocated to VIX call options.
